Gilroy, California, is known as the garlic capital of the United States. Most of our nation's garlic is grown, processed, and shipped from this area south of San Francisco. Gilroy celebrates the garlic harvest with a festival every July featuring garlic food, ice cream, and "Miss Garlic USA".
