Yosemite National Park is one of our country's oldest parks (established 1890). The park's 1,200 square mile wilderness is famous for its soaring granite mountains, spectacular waterfalls, and giant sequoias. The granite rocks were shaped and polished by glaciers long ago. Ansel Adams' black and white photographs of the park are famous around the world.
