4 cups steel cut oats (2 lbs.)
3 lbs ground beef
4 large onions, chopped
3 large cloves garlic, chopped
3 bay leaves
2 red chili peppers
1 tablespoon celery salt
3 ¼ quarts water
Salt
Separate meat into water. Add onions, garlic, and spices. Bring to a boil.
Slowly add oats. Cook slowly, stirring constantly until thick. Salt to taste.
Cook about 1 hour so oatmeal is thoroughly cooked and very thick.
Pour into greased loaf pans.
Store in refrigerator or freezer.
When ready to eat, slice and fry in butter. Serve as a breakfast sausage with eggs.
