The cream of tartar and almond extract make these cookies spectacular!*Measurements in parentheses make 1 1/2 batch
1 1/2 (2 1/4) cups powdered sugar
1 (1 1/2) cup butter
1 (2) egg
1 (1 1/2) tsp. vanilla
1/2 (3/4) tsp. almond
2 1/2 (3 3/4)cups flour
1 (1 1/2)tsp. soda
1 (1 1/2) tsp. cream of tartar
Mix sugar and butter. Add egg and flavoring, mix thoroughly. Stir dry ingredients together, and blend in. Refrigerate 2-3 hours. Bake at 375 for 7-8 minutes or until delicately golden. Spread with Buttercream frosting.From Jane Metler, mlre.org
