1 C Shortening
2 C Sugar
2 Eggs
1 C Sour Cream
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp coarse kosher salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
6 cups of flour
Beat shortening and sugar together on medium speed for 1 minute. Add eggs and sour cream and continue to mix 1 more minute. Add baking soda, salt, and vanilla and mix until incorporated. Add flour 1 C at a time. Not all flour may be needed. dough should still be a little sticky and not pulled away completely from bowl when mixing.
Roll dough between two pieces of parchment paper until even thickness of about 3/8". Cut out in shapes and place on greased baking sheet.
Bake 350 degrees for 8 min. Cookies should not be turning brown. Allow to cool on baking sheet for 8-10 minutes then transfer to cooling rack.
These were delicious, easy, and held their shape very well.
Yeild: about 30 cookies - Dough does not require chilling.
