Butterfinger Maple Bars
What you need:
For the icing:
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 Tbsp. maple extract
- 1/8 tsp. salt
For the donuts:
- 1 tube refrigerated biscuits
- Vegetable oil for frying
For the topping:
- 4 full-size Butterfinger candy bars, chopped
- 2 squares Candiquik
Directions:
- For the icing: Melt butter, brown sugar, and milk in a saucepan over medium-high heat.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cook while stirring for 3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
- While icing cools, heat vegetable oil to 350 degrees.
- Stretch biscuits gently into logs.
- Fry a few logs at a time until golden brown on each side. Remove to a wire rack with a paper towel underneath it.
- After the 15 minutes has passed, add powdered sugar, salt, and maple extract to saucepan and whisk until smooth.
- Dip each donut into icing or pour icing on each.
- Melt Candiquik squares in microwave until smooth.
- Drizzle over the top of the donuts. Immediately sprinkle chopped Butterfingers on top. Gently press in, if needed.
