Mrs. Field's Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake Copycat
What you need:
For the cookie:
- 10 Tbsp. unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup white sugar
- 1 egg + 1 egg yolk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
For the frosting:
- 4 Tbsp. unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 2 Tbsp. cocoa powder
- 1 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 to 2 Tbsp. milk
- Sprinkles
Directions:
- For the cookie: Cream together butter and sugar for about 2 minutes.
- Mix in egg, egg yolk, and vanilla.
- Add dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Reserve 2 Tbsp. chocolate chips and stir the remaining into the dough.
- Press dough into a greased 9-inch pie plate, cake pan, springform pan, or deep dish pizza pan (which I used).
- Then sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top.
- Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 22 to 25 minutes.
- Let the cookie cool completely before running a knife along the edge to loosen them.
- For the frosting: beat all the ingredients until smooth starting with 1 Tbsp. of milk and adding another if needed.
- Pipe onto the cooled cookie cake and add sprinkles for decoration.
