Mrs. Field's Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake Copycat

What you need:

For the cookie:

    • 10 Tbsp. unsalted butter, at room temperature
    • 2/3 cup brown sugar
    • 1/3 cup white sugar
    • 1 egg + 1 egg yolk
    • 1 tsp. vanilla
    • 1 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
    • 3/4 tsp. baking soda
    • 3/4 tsp. salt
    • 1 cup chocolate chips

For the frosting:

    • 4 Tbsp. unsalted butter, at room temperature
    • 2 Tbsp. cocoa powder
    • 1 1/4 cup powdered sugar
    • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    • 1 to 2 Tbsp. milk
    • Sprinkles

Directions:

    1. For the cookie: Cream together butter and sugar for about 2 minutes.
    2. Mix in egg, egg yolk, and vanilla.
    3. Add dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
    4. Reserve 2 Tbsp. chocolate chips and stir the remaining into the dough.
    5. Press dough into a greased 9-inch pie plate, cake pan, springform pan, or deep dish pizza pan (which I used).
    6. Then sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top.
    7. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 22 to 25 minutes.
    8. Let the cookie cool completely before running a knife along the edge to loosen them.
    9. For the frosting: beat all the ingredients until smooth starting with 1 Tbsp. of milk and adding another if needed.
    10. Pipe onto the cooled cookie cake and add sprinkles for decoration.
