    • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cubed
    • 1 cup + 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
    • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 3 tsp. baking powder
    • 1/4 tsp. salt
    • 2/3 cup milk
    • 1 1/2 cups coarsely chopped pecans
    • 1 cup brown sugar
    • 3/4 cup toffee bits
    • 1 1/2 cups boiling water
    • Vanilla ice cream for serving (optional)

Directions:

    1. Place butter in a 9x13-inch pan and put pan in a preheated 350 degree oven to melt. Watch closely so it doesn't brown or burn.

    3. Stir in milk and then spread on top of melted butter as evenly as you can.
    4. Top with pecans, brown sugar, and toffee bits on top.
    5. Then carefully pour boiling water over the top - DO NOT STIR.
    6. Bake in the preheated 350 degree oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until top is golden brown.
    7. Cool on a wire rack for about 20 minutes.
    8. Serve topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
