The Empathy circle has some basic agreements.
The speaker will select the person they will speak to.
The person selected to listen, will listen and try to hear and reflect back their understanding of what the speaker has said to the speakers satisfaction.
The speaker takes the responsibility to know what they have been heard to their satisfaction. or the time is up.
The facilitator is part on the circle.
The facilitator my keep the participants to the agreements.
etc.
How do people stop fulfilling their agreement?
some people, usually when they get upset, by what the speaker says, will start replying or defending themselves and not wait for the speaker to feel head to their satisfaction.
