In class today you will be watching a documentary on eating insects.
Objectives:
-Students will be able to identify the need for Americans to change food sources.
-Students will be able to connect culture to how a person views food.
-Students will be able to summarize the value in eating insects.
Assignment:
On a page in your sketchbook, title it "Can eating insects save the world"
In two columns , create two lists, a list of insects and other arthropods you would eat or at least try, and a list that you would not try.
While watching the documentary answer these questions:
-How would Americans, eating insects help our planet?
-Why do we think some animals are acceptable to eat and not others?
-Do you think Americans will ever become comfortable eating insects?
-How did the documentary make you feel? What did it make you think about?
