Experiment 1: Melting Apples
Apples have been a part if American society for a long time. The native Americans use to grow crab apples (a small sour apple) later the English colonists brought over other varieties of apples. The colonists also brought over honey bees to help with apple pollination. John Chapman, known as Johnny Apple See, would give bags full of apple seeds to any settler that was headed west, with the hopes that apple trees would spread over the United States.
The scientific name for the apple is Malus Domestica.
