24-year-old JC de Vera signed a non-exclusive contract with TV5 to become one of the rising network’s roster of talents. JC’s contract with GMA has expired last March 14. His manager, Annabelle Rama, who had a feud with GMA executive Wilma Galvante, took the opportunity to pull him out from the primetime series “Panday Kids” and transfer him to TV5.

JC De Vera decided to do his first daring role on television becoming the second star offering of Obra, Katrina Halili being the first. JC De Vera‘s Obra first episode is that of a macho dancer in “Pretty Boy.” Then the second week shifts to comedy in the episode “Daddy Dearest,” about a young man set to get married without any problem, until he discovers that his father and uncle are gay. The third episode, JC De Vera plays a kind-hearted young man who ends up behind bars because of injustice in the episode Rehas. And the last episode where JC De Vera is featured in Obra, JC portrays a disabled person who searches for love and miracle in Liwanag sa Dilim.The Philippines top notch directors, Joel Lamangan, Maryo J. JC recently transferred to TV5, and signed a 3 year non-exclusive contract with the network and was formally introduced on March 17, 2010 as one of the new talents to TV5.
