Dennis Trillo flies to US and Europe before returning to primetime
Kapuso Drama King Dennis Trillo, who will soon return to the small screen via the upcoming telefantasya Mulawin vs Ravena, says he’ll be spending a few days abroad before starting on his new show.
In an interview with GMA News, Dennis said that he is preparing for GMA Pinoy TV’s Sikat Ka, Kapuso! Concert which is set to happen on January 22 at the Terrace Theater in Long Beach, California. Joining him are Dennis’ rumored sweetheart Jennylyn Mercado, as well as Alden Richards, Lovi Poe, Tom Rodriguez, and Betong Sumaya.
The talented Kapuso actor said he prepared about seven songs dedicated to the Kapuso supporters in the US. He also said that he will be singing a duet with Jennylyn, and will also have production numbers with his fellow Kapuso artists.
Taking a few days off from work, Dennis will also be flying to Europe after their concert in California. With Jennylyn perhaps?

Dennis Trillo wins big in Seoul International Drama Awards
Drama King Dennis Trillo bagged the Asian Star Prize in Seoul International Drama Awards in South Korea. The award recognizes and rewards Asian talent widely beloved by the Korean audience. To date, Dennis is the first ever Filipino actor to receive the said award.
In his acceptance speech, the Kapuso actor thanked the award-giving body for the honor and recognition. He also dedicated his award to GMA Network, his family, loved ones, and to all Filipinos.
“I would like to thank the Seoul International Drama Awards for this honor and recognition. This is very special to me because it was given by the Korean people who are very well known in creating the best dramas in the world.”
“In the Philippines, we also do our best in trying to create quality programs for the Filipino audience. This award will continue to inspire me in honing my craft as a dramatic actor.”

“Si Jennica magaling ‘yang artista, kahit ano mapa-drama, comedy, o kahit anong bigay mo sa kanya magaling siya talaga. Kayang-kaya niya dalin kahit anong ipagawa mo sa kanya,” ang panimulang pahayag ni Dennis Trillo.
"Adik Sa'Yo? Once nag-start, ano na, tuluy-tuloy na 'yon. Abangan nila dahil, ano 'to eh, bago 'to sa prime time. Ibabalik namin 'yung romantic comedy. Magaan at saka entertaining, 'yon ang importante," banggit ni Dennis tungkol sa panibagong prime time offering ng GMA.
"Sa pamilya namin, ako lang 'yung lalaki, 'yung nanay ko, lola ko. Tapos dalawang kapatid, and pamilya kami ng magtutuba," dagdag pa niya. "Ako, umaakyat ng buko, gano'n, si Ruben (name ng kanyang character), ano siya, man of few words, pero since siya 'yung lalaki, responsible siya sa dun pamilya niya. Parang siya 'yung tumatayong 'padre de pamilya'."
Kuwento pa ni Dennis na kanilang sinusubukan nang magsalita tulad ng mga taga-Batangas para mas believable ang istorya: "Ano ito eh, parang pamilya ng mga Batangueño so, nag-workshop kami ng ano, actually, hindi siya parang workshop, discussion lang. Nag-beat around lang kami ng mga lines. Pero may mga true Batangueños na nandon para i-correct kami kung may mali. Meron! Makulit, makulit talaga."
Sa totoo lang, isa pa sa mga kina-eexcite niya ang makatrabaho ulit ang batikang direktor na si Joel Lamangan, na para sa kanya ang mga ginawa nilang pelikula ang mga naging big break ni Dennis.
Idinagdag pa niya na hindi naging hadlang sa kanilang team-up ang age-difference dahil pareho lang naman nilang ginagawa ang kanilang mga trabaho. In fact, na-challenge pa silang i-prove na magwo-work nga ang kanilang bagong tambalan.“Wala naman sa edad ‘yun eh," sabi ni Dennis. "'Di ba 'yung last nga namin na magkasama kami, magkapatid kami pero ngayon challenge sa amin na gawing maging effective 'yung team up naming dalawa."Inamin din niya na bilib at hangang-hanga siya sa anak ng batikang aktres na si Jean Garcia. and he considers himself lucky na mapagkatiwalaang makapareha ni Jennica. "Oo naman, syempre napakaganda niya at saka talented pa, pero hindi namin iniisip ngayon yun mga ligaw-ligaw kasi gusto namin gawing talagang maganda itong Adik Sa ‘Yo so pinagtratrtabuhan namin ng husto, ginagawa namin ang lahat para maging maganda ang mga eksena namin.”Siguradong aabangan nga ang kanilang show dahil bukod sa star power nito, aabangan din ng mga tao ang mga romantic interludes nina Dennis at Jennica. “Hindi puwedeng mawala ang mga kissing scenes pero syempre light lang, 'yung smack lang sa lips,” ang nakangiting pagtatapos ni Dennis.
Abelardo Dennis Florencio Ho (born May 12, 1981 in Quezon City, Philippines), or more famously known as Dennis Trillo is a television singer and film actor in the Philippines. His film debut Aishite Imasu (Mahal Kita) 1941 which skyrocketed him into a matinee idol status. He is currently an artist ofGMA Network, his rise to fame was proven in 2006 when he won the Best Actor trophy thrice that same year defeating heavy contender, Piolo Pascual, Making him the only non-veteran actor to defeat Piolo Pascual in the said feat.
Trillo comes from a well-off family. He finished his high school in Jose Abad Santos Memorial School in Quezon City, and he spent his grade school years at the Ateneo De Manila University. He has a B.A. in International Studies from Miriam College.
His career in entertainment started in 2000 at ABS-CBN, when he was introduced as one of the young talents for the 10th batch of Star Circle, ABS-CBN Network’s artist machinery (now known as Star Magic). He was seen in the television soap opera Pangako Sayo & Sa Dulo ng Walang Hangganwhere he played the confidante of one of the lead stars. Despite his exposure, Trillo’s career did not really take off. He used to be in a rock band called Moyg.
His biggest breaks came upon his transfer to GMA Network wherein he became one of its contract stars. He was cast in several television outings likeKahit Kailan, Twin Hearts and Love to Love.
Trillo's stardom continued to rise in 2004, when he became one of the lead stars in the popular telefantasya (fantasy-themed TV series) Mulawin. He made his film debut in Aishite Imasu 1941: Mahal Kita, where he received raves for his portrayal of a cross-dressing spy for the HUKBALAHAP during the advent of the Japanese invasion in World War II. For Aishite Imasu, he received several awards and citations including Best Supporting Actor from the 30th Metro Manila Film Festival and Best Actor trophies from the Film Academy of the Philippines, the PMPC Star Awards For Movies, and the Young Critics Circle. He was also included in the third installment of Mano Po, which starred Vilma Santos, a veteran actress and grand-slam Best Actress awardee.
2005 proved to be a more fruitful year for Trillo. He was part of the hit TV adaptation of the Mars Ravelo comic, Darna, where he played the love interest of both the titular super-heroine as well as her archenemy Valentina. He was later part of the drama anthology Now and Forever: Agos, where he again showcased his acting prowess. That same year he reprised his role for Mulawin: The Movie, and was also in the film Blue Moon alongside award-winning actors Eddie Garcia and Christopher de Leon, this is also the same year where he proved his acting prowess when he defeated heavy contender, Piolo Pascual thrice for the best actor trophy. Many critics said that Dennis' advantage over Piolo is that Dennis can act on any genres of film and TV, he can also portray other roles including villain and gay roles.
Trillo was again cast as a lead in Etheria, where he portrayed the Sapirian prince, Raquim, previously donned by Richard Gomez. Midway through the series, GMA Network management announced that Trillo would be pulled out of Etheria to once again star opposite Angel Locsin (who played Darna) in Majika, another fantasy-themed television series. Although subsequent to the announcement, many Etheria fans felt that it would be a big blow to the series since he plays a major character. Ultimately, it was cleared that Trillo would see the series to its finale.
Trillo also had dealt with nasty gossip. One is that he had a son with a model and he other is questioning his sexuality. Trillo reunites with former love team Angel Locsin as they top-bill in GMA Network’s newest offering, a television fantasy series aptly called Majika. Trillo plays Argo, a provocatively clad Salamanca (wizard) with finesse in archery who teaches his protégée Sabina (Angel Locsin) how to hone her craft and become a powerful sorceress. Aside from his television show, Trillo also starred in the horror-suspense film Pamahiin, which is his first major acting role for the particular film genre. Recognizing his passion for making music, GMA also included him as a co-host for the network's noontime show "SOP" where he also displays his talent for drums as part of the show's Starband. He made a "Lenten Presentation" in GMA-7 entitled "Unico Hijo" which he played the role of Agnes, a gay, an AIDS victim, son of a well-known politician in their province.
On 2007, Dennis was started doing Kulam with Judy Ann Santos for Regal Films also. On August 21, Dennis started in taping his fantaserye of GMA-7's Zaido, where he stars with Raymart Santiago, Marky Cielo, Aljur Abrenica, and Lorna Tolentino, at a studio in Marilao, Bulacan.
On April 27, 2008, 5,000 tourists and residents at the Mactan, Cebu Shrine, viewed the "Battle of Mactan" play, where Manny Pacquiao acted asLapu-Lapu, while Dennis Trillo played Ferdinand Magellan.[3]
On May 12, 2008, Dennis Trillo's newest starrer, afternoon soap, called locally as a "Sine Novela," Pablo Gomez's "Magdusa Ka" premiered to good ratings. It is still enjoying great success. Sine Novela: Magdusa Ka, also stars Iwa Moto, Jackie Lou Blanco, Emilio Garcia, Gabby Eigenmann, and his leading lady Katrina Halili in a very different role. In the said soap, Dennis Trillo played a macho dancer character. His macho dancing act in "Magdusa Ka" created buzz in the Philippines because the soap is shown on an afternoon time slot. It is also a daring career move for Dennis Trillo.
In Late 2008, Dennis starred in "Gagambino" where he played the main character. The series ended in Early 2009.
In 2009, after Gagambino, he starred in the comedy, "Adik Sa'Yo" and as Pancho in Darna. Trillo replacedDingdong Dantes as one of the hosts in StarStruck V.
In 2010, Trillo began co-hosting the GMA Variety Program, Party Pilipinas. He appeared on Sine Novela Presents: Gumapang Ka Sa Lusak. In 2011, he appeared on the GMA Fantaserye, Dwarfina .
He is Filipino Chinese(Chinoy). His mother is a Filipino and his father is Chinese. In September 2007, Dennis Trillo admitted that he is the father of the baby of Carlene Aguilar, named Calix Andreas, in an exclusive interview with Showbiz Central. Dennis stated that he felt relieved after making the admission: “Pakiramdam ko mas magkakaroon ako ng peace of mind dahil …kasi Hindi ko naman matatago yun habambuhay dahil talagang dumarating sa parte ng isang tao ‘yung ganun nagkakaroon ng anak , parte ng buhay yun e, so yun yung inevitable sa isang buhay. He was also in a relationship with Cristine Reyes but broke up in mid 2008. Apparently, Dennis and Cristine are still in a relationship but they're keeping it in a low profile.
