The Half Sisters airs final episode on January 18
The much-awaited ending of GMA 7’s longest-running and top-rating afternoon series The Half Sisters will air January 18 on GMA’s flagship international channel, GMA Pinoy TV.
The series brought laughter and tears to audiences worldwide while dominating on its timeslot with high TV ratings. And due to the clamour of viewers, it was rewarded with several extensions and continues to remain at the top of its game for more than a year and eight months since it premiered last June 2014.
With the series ending, Barbie Forteza, Thea Tolentino, Andre Paras and Jean Garcia share their most memorable scenes and what viewers can expect from the finale episode.
For Barbie, who plays the role of Diana, she said she had a lot of unforgettable scenes but she will definitely treasure her trip to Japan with her co-stars since it was her first out-of-the-country experience. She also shared that viewers must wait and see if Diana and Bradley (Andre Paras) will end up together after all the setbacks in their relationship. “No matter how terrible the past can be, you will still learn to forgive the people you love the most,” she shares.
For Thea, who portrays Ashley, her most memorable moment was when Jean Garcia slapped her many times for a crucial scene. “Siyempre yung sampal pa rin ni Ms. Jean Garcia. Yung apat na sunod-sunod.‘Yun talaga ang hindi ko makakalimutan dahil uminit ang pisngi ko noon siguro ng more than 1 hour [Of course, it’s still the slap from Ms. Jean Garcia. I received four in succession. That’s what I will never forget because my cheeks were hot for more than an hour afterwards],” she said. She also promises that viewers will be on the edge of their seats because of the intense and exciting finale episode, “Walang eksena na dapat palampasin dahil dito talaga makikita ang lahat ng hirap na dinanas ng pamilya nila Ashley atDiana [They shouldn’t miss any scenes because they will really witness all the hardships endured by the Ashley and Diana’s family].”
For Andre, he will definitely miss all his co-stars because they really got close with each other, “The most memorable scenes are the ones behind the camera because we get to bond with each other.” He also revealed that while doing the show he learned “to always be humble and to always be yourself.” And for the finale, viewers should “expect a happy ending from a sad story.”
And for Jean, who plays Rina, she will never forget the episodes where her character became blind. “That was a first for me and talagang nung una nangapa ako [at first I was still trying to get a feel of it] …I thought madali lang pero hindi pala [I thought it was easy but it wasn’t] … mahirap pero [it was hard but] I enjoyed it kasi [because] it was a different challenge for me as an actress.” She will miss everyone in the show most especially her teen co-stars, “First time ko nakatrabaho sila [It was my first time working with] Barbie, Thea, Andre pero kahit mga anak ang turing ko sa kanila [but even if I treat them as my kids], we became real friends!”
And for the finale, Jean said viewers should “expect the most exciting, and heart-pounding ending! We gave all our energy, dedication and passion to The Half Sisters kaya isa rin siguro yan sa nagsustain sa amin para manatiling number one [maybe that’s also why we were able to sustain our number one status]. Hindi lamang kaming mga artista at director kundi lahat ng involved sa [It wasn’t just the artists and the director but also everyone involved in the] show gave their best! Kaya [That’s why] this is one show I will never forget.”
