Carla Abellana, Solenn Heussaff amp up simultaneous GMA Pinoy TV events in US, Canada
Following the successful Philippine Independence Day celebrations, GMA Pinoy TV is once again bringing Kapuso stars Carla Abellana and Solenn Heussaff to various parts of USA and Canada as they respectively headline simultaneous festivities that the Kapuso abroad should not miss.
Carla Abellana flies to Florida and Texas
Kapuso actress Carla Abellana is heading to the US as she banners AZ Media Entertainment’s back-to-back Fiesta Ko Sa Florida on September 1 and Fiesta Ko Sa Texas on September 2. The fun-filled events will showcase everything Filipino through cultural performances, contests, vendor booths and exhibits from local businesses, as well as a raffle draw. Highlighting each event will be Carla’s special performance followed by a meet-and-greet portion with the Kapuso abroad.
Fiesta Ko Sa Florida, which is set to happen at the Florida Horse Park County Road in Ocala, is co-organized by One Philippines News Magazine, JM Cargo, in cooperation with the Filipino-American Association in Ocala. On the other hand, Fiesta Ko Sa Texas will be held at the Bayou City Event Center, Knight Road in Houston. Both events are also made possible through the exclusive media sponsorship of GMA Pinoy TV and partner carrier DISH Network.

Solenn Heussaff returns to Canada jam-packed with surprises
Set to cap off the Philippines’ National Language Month, Solenn Heussaff will grace the ‘Wika at Kulturang Pinoy Festival’ on August 30 at the Thorncliffe Community Center, Calgary in Alberta, Canada. The whole day event, organized by the Pinoy Times Entertainment, aims to unite the Filipino community via an OPM singing contest, Paligsahan sa Pagbabaybay, Timpalak sa Balagtasan, Filipiniana dance competition, and an English to Filipino translation match.
The festivities will continue in Winnipeg on September 1 as Solenn spices up LUCOMM (LU Communications)’s event dubbed ‘Food Trip: A Taste of Home, Year 3!’ at the Tyndall Park Community Center. Solenn, who also hosts the GMA News TV lifestyle show Taste Buddies, will join the two-day festival of Pinoy recipes which will surely bring one’s palate down the memory lane through various food stalls, cook-offs and an eating challenge.
Solenn will conclude her Canadian tour in Vancouver at the ‘Taiwan Fest Fete with the Philippines 2018’on September 2. Slated to happen at the Vancouver Art Gallery Plaza, the multi-faceted ‘It Girl’ will strut her stuff in a fashion show by Taiwan-based Filipino designer Mario Subeldia. The Taiwan Fest is organized by the United Filipino Canadian Associations of British Columbia (UFCABC) and is the largest English/Mandarin bilingual cultural festival in Canada which co-presents a different Asian Culture each year.

Carla Angeline Reyes Abellana (born June 12, 1986) is a Filipina actress and commercial model who played the lead role in the Philippine adaptation of the Mexican telenovela, Rosalinda, aired in GMA Network.
Born in Manila, Abellana is the daughter of Rey "PJ" Abellana, and Rea Reyes. Reyes' mother is Delia Razon, an Ilongga with German and Filipino-Spanish roots who was a popular actress during the 1950s. She graduated from De la Salle University-Manila as Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree.
Abellana started as a commercial model. Her endorsed products included Palmolive shampoo, Jollibee Ice Craze, Beverly Hills 6750 and many more.
In 2009, she auditioned to be one of the three leading ladies of Richard Gutierrez for the television series, Zorro. Instead of giving her a leading lady role in Zorro, the management of GMA Network saw a potential in her and decided to launch her as a new star by giving her a leading role in a television soap. She was chosen to star in the Philippine remake of the Mexican telenovela, Rosalinda which was originally starred by Mexican actress Thalía.
Abellana is part of the ever growing family of Bench Philippines. She started in 2009, and is one of the most famous talents/model of the said clothing brand. Abellana did a photo shoot for Americas Next Top Model judge and photographer, Nigel Barker. The photo shoot was for Philippine's socialite magazine, Philippine Tatler. During the Philippine Fashion Week 2011, Abellena did modelling for Bench Philippines and featured a gown designed by Top fashion designer Michelle Sison alongside Iya Villania, Nikki Gil, Cesca Litton and Geneva Cruz.
Aside from Rosalinda, she has co-hosted for SOP Rules. Then, it is announced that Abellana will be hosting along with Dennis Trillo and Raymond Gutierrez in the fifth season of StarStruck, replacing Jolina Magdangal which aired on November 2009. She is now co-hosting Party Pilipinas on Channel 7. She also hosted Binibining Pilipinas 2010 and the recent Miss World Philippines 2013 which was both aired and hosted by GMA 7.
Carla is a contract star of Regal Films. She signed a 12-picture contract with the company. Her first film under Regal Films is Mamarazzi which stars Eugene Domingo, JC Tiuseco and Andi Eigenmann. Abellana appeared in her first horror film which was an entry to 2010 Metro Manila Film Festival, Shake, Rattle & Roll XII. In September 2011, Abellana starred in the Regal Films film My Neighbor's Wife alongside Lovi Poe,Dennis Trillo and Jake Cuenca. By the end of 2011, Abellana also appeared in two films, both of which are entries for the 2011 Metro Manila Film Festival: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow with Maricel Soriano and Gabby Concepcion and Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story alongside Gov. E. R. Ejercito.
