Aljur Abrenica’s career on full swing again
Aljur Abrenica is definitely back and very much visible onscreen - with an upcoming show on primetime TV no less.
In his new show with the Kapuso Network called Once Again, the Kapuso actor is reunited with Janine Gutierrez, daughter of actors Ramon Christopher and Lotlot de Leon. The two worked together last year in the GMA daytime series, Dangwa.
During Once Again’s pictorial, the StarStruck: IV Ultimate Male Survivor revealed that he is ready to embrace his character, Edgar, whom he described as someone similar to him in real life.
“Nakikita ko ang sarili ko sa kanya kasi parehas kaming family man. Grabe rin kami magmahal sa isang babae na tipong ipaglalaban mo siya hanggang sa kamatayan [I see myself in him because, like me, he is also a family man. We are also alike in that we will do anything for the one we love, even fight for her until our last breath],” he shared.
Once Again will premiere this May on GMA’s flagship international channel, GMA Pinoy TV. (30)
His true name is Aljur Mikael Guiang Abrenica. Abrenica was raised in Angeles City, Pampanga
and attended Don Bosco Academy in high school. In 2006, he joined reality-based talent search show, StarStruck, where he won the "Ultimate Hunk" title. As of September 1, 2007, Aljur Abrenica signed as a contract artist for Regal Films. Abrenica played Cervano/Zaido in Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawakan. He has also appeared in Zaido, Dyesebel and Boys Nxt Door, Luna Mystica and SOP Rules. He is also named Yes Magazine's Next Big Male Star.
Abrenica played Miguelito "Lito" Sanchez in the afternoon drama, Dapat Ka Bang Mahalin?. He also starred in the film Nandito Ako...Nagmamahal Sa'Yo, a film produced by Regal Films.
He appeared in All My Life in 2009 and in the television series The Last Prince in January 2010, which was followed by his first solo project Ilumina last October 2010, then followed his second solo project, Machete in 2011.
Aljur and partner with Bianca King joined in a GMA Christmas Reality show, Puso Ng Pasko: Artista Challenge last December 2010.
