Student-Staff Forum
About the Student-Staff Forum
Our Student-Staff Forum (SSF) is the main place to raise any concerns, feedback, or ideas, with the department.
The SSF comprises of student representatives and members of staff within the History Department.
Action points created at the SSF are then taken forward to the Department's Undergraduate Affairs Committee for discussion, and may ultimately be discussed at a Departmental Meeting, or the Department's Executive Board, to inform decisions that impact future learning and teaching policy and practices.

Student-Staff Forum Structure
What issues should be brought to Student-Staff Forum?
Any issue that concerns undergraduate students!
Topics can be raised by any student and you can communicate your concerns/questions to your student representatives, who will raise these with the forum and report back.
You can also come along and raise issues, ideas or suggestions yourself, either in-person, or via our online suggestions form.
Membership
Your representatives are made up from all three levels of the undergraduate degrees, with single and dual honours students represented. However, when it comes to meetings, ALL students are welcome to come along.
If you would like to get involved in Student Staff Form, feel free to email history.ugenquiries@sheffield.ac.uk for more information.
Departmental Staff
The meetings are also attended by staff from the Department of History, including the Senior Tutor, and Undergraduate Student Experience Manager. Other selected members of teaching and support staff will be invited to the meeting, depending on the topics for discussion.
Student reps are invited to sign up at the beginning of each academic year. If you miss this opportunity you are welcome to sign up as a representative at any point throughout the year and to attend meetings and raise questions.
Library Representatives
We also invite Steven McIndoe to the meetings. Steve is the library liaison for the department, and he is happy to be contacted with concerns directly, or you can contact your student representatives with questions or concerns, or use our Feedback Form, to raise with Steve at the meeting for further discussion.
Chair
The Chair of the SSF is usually the Senior Tutor in the department, currently Dr Tehyun Ma.
