Harassment and bullying

There are many forms of harassment and whilst it is difficult to categorise them all, this includes sexual harassment, racial harassment, stalking, victimisation and cyber-bullying and online harassment.

The University of Sheffield is committed to promoting the highest standards of behaviour to maintain a working, learning and social environment where everyone is treated fairly and with respect.

Ours is a motivated and diverse University community, where staff and students have a right to expect high standards from each other and to work together to maximise the benefits of difference.

The University takes allegations of bullying and harassment extremely seriously and will support you fully in ensuring that the harassment or bullying ceases. Further information and details about the support available are outlined here. You can also contact the Student Welfare and Wellbeing team (support@sheffield.ac.uk) for more information.

If you are being subjected to harassment or bullying, you do not have to feel it is your fault and you do not have to tolerate it. If you have concerns, we would encourage you to come and talk to us.
