Organic Forms and Textures

The subject of this image is six eggs, specifically placed in the fresh snow. In order to create this image, I used the recent snowfall, and six eggs out of my fridge. I chose to create this specific image, because it relates to my concentration and it relates to the given prompt which is organic forms and textures. I chose that specific spot in the snow because i liked how the lines framed the eggs. Elements I used included line, color, texture, and space. Principals of design I used included balance, contrast, emphasis and unity.

In this image, the composition rules and techniques that are featured are formal balance and grouping. Formal balance can be seen in this image because it is the same on the top and the bottom of the image. Grouping can be seen, because the eggs are all in a group together in the middle of the photo plane. Steps that I took in order to help this photo evolve into what it is now, include playing with the lighting and moving around the eggs and snow. I changed the lighting a lot in order to get it just right and create a soft mood lighting.

This photo relates to my concentration because it shows the diversity in unity. This connects to societal issues because it relates to racism, which plays an immense role and is a growing problem in our society. In our world, people are judged based upon the color of our skin. While some people don't realize that on the inside, we are all the same. This photo represents this because although the shells of the eggs are different colors and can be categorized based upon these colors, but when you crack them open, you see the same exact thing in all of them. This project relates to my life because I am surrounded by stereo types and bias growing up. I created this photo because I wanted to bring more attention to the subject. If I could make this image stronger, I would've found eggs that are more diverse in color to better represent and signify the diversity in unity.
