Analogous Color

For my analogous colors project, I chose my subject to be a sunset. I took this photo in Mexico over February Vacation. This photo is composed using the elements of line, shape, color, and space. Color is most prominent because I made sure to incorporate the varying colors of the sunset in order to really emphasize how beautiful it was. Principals used are contrast, emphasis, and movement because the colors and clouds positions were constantly changing.

Composition rules and techniques are showcased in this image as well. Such as formal balance because your eyes aren't drawn to a certain focal point. Silhouette lighting is present because you can't see the white of the clouds. It's dark because the light is coming from behind.

This project relates to my life because I took it while I was on vacation in a place that I love. If i could make this image stronger, I would include the ocean below it to incorporate low horizon line into the image.
