Portraits

For this assignment, we were asked to take a roll of film that was full of portraits of another person. In my case, this roll is full of photos of fellow classmate, Cristina. She walked around the school and posed as I took many staged and candid photos of her. After taking these photos, I developed them. I opened the camera before rewinding the film which explains why there are some white areas where the film was exposed to light. However, I am very fortunate that the majority of the photos came out in the negatives. After making my contact sheet in f-16 with an exposure time of 6 seconds, I decided upon the image that I was going to use for my final print. Everything went very smoothly, except for the fact that my first final print was too dark so I re-did it at 6 seconds and this was my final product! It was dark enough to convey the amount of emotion that I wanted, but not too dark that you couldn't see Cristina's face.
