Zoom and Crop

For this assignment, we were asked to focus in on a certain area of the side view of our shoe, and keep zooming in for three stages. We were to keep blowing up the image, including all of the details contained in the previous image. In order to accurately represent this, I used a pencil and a ruler to create these three pieces. The elements used in this piece include lines, shape and space. Lines make up the piece and form the areas of the shoe, and the piece is make up of different shapes such as rectangles and triangles, while the space shows how the movement of the art goes. How large the space is, shows how far zoomed in I am. Once I started on the second section, I realized that I was making the same sized stitching lines as the previous image. I altered this by making larger stitching lines to show that the image is blown up. The meaning behind this artwork is that this is actually my own shoe. This is also how this piece relates to my own life. These are the shoes that I walk around the world in. Not just any random shoes. I am very proud of how I accurately represented the lines throughout the piece. I struggled finding out how large to make the stitching lines as the images progressed. Eventually I ended up drawing the original lines and connecting them in groups of three, then in groups of 6 for the last one. In the future, one way to better improve my piece would be to make the lines thicker as the images progressed. This would show that the image is getting larger, hence the larger lines to prove it.
