Artistic Inspiration

Evan Baden

Florence and Daniel

2014

I am drawn to Evan Baden's work because it conveys a strong sense of emotion. In every photo in his collection, you can get a sense of how the subject is feeling, just by looking at the image. I admire this skill, and enjoy his work because of it. I can also relate to his work because all of his subjects in his photos are teenagers.

David Hillard

Suzie Floating

2008

I am drawn to David Hillard's work because in each one of his pieces, he cuts up the photo and puts white strips in between. I think that this is a very modern approach to photography, and I believe that the spacing represents emotional distance between something so close, yet so far.

Banksy

Mobile Lovers

2014

I am drawn to Banksy's work because I admire how it is a different take on artwork. He feels the need to break the law, while using his right to express himself freely, which I find to be ironic. I admire his bravery and creativity. I think he has an interesting opinion on certain topics and I enjoy the way he expresses those opinions.

Sally Mann

Candy Cigarette

1989

I am drawn to Sally Mann's work because she explores the topic of feminism which I hold close to my heart. She believes in raising young girls to believe they're powerful, and I think that she does a very good job of conveying the power and strength of this young girl.

Noah Grondin

The Rush

2017

I am drawn to Noah's work because when he is taking photos, he is traveling the world. Noah Grondin is a good friend of mine, whom I grew up with. I admire the way he has taken it upon himself to travel the world and do what he loves, while pursuing his passion. He also focuses on portraits of people in front of landscapes in the back round, which is what I like to photograph the most as well.
