Google My Business (GMB) is an application we use to manage our engagement and marketing via google including Google Search and Google Maps.
We can market our products, chat with others, see and respond to our reviews, and provide potential members with the information on where we are and how to get in contact with us
Your accounts have already been set up for you yey! All you need to do is download the GMB app on your phone and log in via your password you should be able to find in ASANA.
Google My Business is available for access via your computer, android device and apple products.
GMB has other applications that are associated with it including Google Analytics and the big one for us... Google Ads.
There are quite a few features on Google My Business however at a minimum we must be doing the following:
Your page's basics (location, contact number etc) has already been set up for you so it is unlikely that you will ever need to do this. However there are a few things you will need to update regularly such as your photos. It is said that we need to post our images on Google just as much if not more than what we do on our socials! Crazy right?! Well when you think about it, if you are looking for a product, do you google it or facebook it?
Below is a short video on how to log in and make edits to your basics in your Google Profile
The 3 major ways you will interact with your customers are via:
Google Reviews
Direct Messaging
Photo Uploads
Handling and Collecting Google Reviews are arguably the most important thing you will do on your GMB account.
There is a 5 star rating which is displayed every time someone googles our business. Reviews help potential customers compare similar local products. Positive reviews provide a huge creditability boost, however 3 five star reviews are not enough you need both quality and quantity.
The more recent and regular reviews the better. They have the power to not only gain the prospects trust however also encourages them to engage with us.
Getting a member to leave us a positive review is only a job half done. Our member has made the effort to engage with us so we need to respond and engage right back. By replying to everyone it continues to keep them engaged and also shows the public how serious we are about our business and how much we care and value feedback, both positive and negative.

Google My Business now has a "message" option which gives the consumer the opportunity to contact us directly without the requirement of submitting an enquiry. We need to respond to these enquiries as quickly as possible as Google also provides the average turn around time information to the customer. Similar to google reviews, a quick response shows how engaged we are with what we do and how much we care about each enquiry.
Messaging between us and the customer works best as a conversation between us as human beings and not automated robotic responses. Ensure that you are ALWAYS professional when responding. See the button below for Googles messaging guidelines

Our GMB Profile is a great place to showcase the photos that capture our gym. Businesses with photos are more likely to receive requests for driving directions to their location, as well as clicks through to their websites, than the businesses who don't have photos.
In addition to your logo and the picture you’d like to appear first on Google Maps results, you can post photos of products and events to keep customers in the know and show them what we do best. Put your social media photos to work by also posting them to your profile using Google My Business.
There are several types of photos you can add to your Business Profile:
Logo: Help your customers recognise your business on Google. For businesses that have their basic information, such as a phone number or hours of operation, the Business Profile highlights the logo.
Cover photo: Set a cover photo at the top of your profile that best represents your gym. In some instances, this action doesn’t guarantee the cover photo will show up as the first image for your business.
Business photos: Add different photos to highlight features of your gym to attract and inform customers.
Photos should be at least 720 pixels wide by 720 pixels tall, and either a JPG or PNG.
