Master the aspects below and you will have a successful career in ANY sales role with the ability to market your club and bring in new business like a champion. Lets Get Started!
There are different types of Marketing out there, and which alternative you use is dependant on your objective so before you begin you must always discuss your purpose. Ask yourself
What am I marketing? This could be a product, a service, the brand.
Why am i doing this? What do i want to get out of this? For example this could be getting a lead/ Sales/ Walk In's/ Begin a community discussion/ App Downloads/ Purchase of a service such as PT
Once you have worked out the what and they why you can then workout what type of marketing you want to go ahead with do to get the best outcome. Some marketing strategies are:
Traditional Marketing - This is offline channels such as flyer drops, posters, billboards
Outbound Marketing - The "outbound" comes from pushing a message out on others regardless of interest. This includes cold calling or purchasing an email database and sending out emails, door knocking etc. This is not something that we find much of a return on.
Digital Marketing - This is basically everything done online inc, social media, influencer, conversational, content, brand, Stealth
Search Engine Marketing - Basically having us pop up on the top of search engines such as google and includes paying for ad words. As we are with a franchise our Support Office takes care of this for us. To see what they are pushing each month check out the Marketing section in your Dashboard
Stealth Marketing - This is when the prospect does not realise they are being marketed too. An example would be a news article about the 5 best cleaning products "trialed and tested". Here the #1 or #2 are usually the ones who created the news article or paid the news outlet to run the story/ad.
Guerrilla Marketing - Guerrilla marketing is placing bold brand activations in high-traffic physical locations to spread brand awareness. This could include promoting during a live event without permission from sponsors or organisers, public stunts, and treasure hunts. It can work well for brand awareness however it also has the potential to go left if its misunderstood by the audience.
Affiliate Marketing - When 2 companies agree to promote each others product to their audience
The list of options is forever expanding so lets now move into the basics around the marketing we use regularly
Digital Marketing is all online marketing. The main platforms we use are Facebook, Instagram, Google and we have just started looking into Linkd In.
