Production Planning assists organisations in managing all their production tasks. The Edit Stages interface allows users to set up all the stages that jobs must go through. These stages will be unique to each organisation.

New: Creates a new Stage.
Actions:
Batch Update: Allows users to change all the selected records when Update (button) is clicked. The options are:
Group: Adds the stages to the Group selected on the dropdown list.
Next Task Trigger: By default, the next Status in an Assembly will be set to ready from the lowest assembly, moving up the tree. The options are:
Complete
Part Complete
Resources: Changes the number of resources (e.g. team members) to the number typed in the block.
SQL (Group and Task): Updates the Group and Task SQL generated descriptions for the stage selected in the dropdown list.
Shift: Allows users to select a shift from the dropdown lists of shifts (as created for that organisation.) Multiple Shifts can be linked to a Stage.
Status: Checkbox to change the status to Active if checked, or Inactive if unchecked.
Tracking: Checks the stages for which tracking is required. Checked = Tracking required.
Buffer Hrs: The time the workstation is not operational (e.g. while it is cleaned, or if waiting for ink/paint to dry).
Add Default Statuses: Adds the Default Statuses to the selected stages.
Menu:
Refresh: Refreshes the display.
Edit Group Description (SQL): Opens a SQL editor to customise or automate the group description.
Edit Task Description (SQL): Opens a SQL editor to customise or automate the task description.

ID: The system-generated number for the stage.
Status: The stage's status.
Description: The stage's description.
Code: The brief description for the stage.
Type: The type of stage.
Group: The stage's group.
Next Task Trigger: The status that activates the next task.
Groups (SQL): A checkbox to indicate whether SQL is used to automate Group descriptions.
Tasks (SQL): A checkbox to indicate whether SQL is used to automate Task descriptions.
Workstation: The name of the workstation.
Shifts: The shifts allocated to the stage.
Setup: A checkbox, that if checked indicates that Setup is tracked.
Run: A checkbox, that if checked indicates that Run is tracked.
Washup: A checkbox, that if checked indicates that Washup is tracked.
Resources: The number of resources (e.g. team members) used.
Order: A system-generated number indicating the sequence that stages should be completed in.
Date Updated: The date on which the stage was updated.
Updated by: The User who updated the stage.
Buffer Hrs: The number of hours the stage is idle (e.g. for paint to dry). Named Wait Hrs under Batch Update.
Menu (...): A submenu that can also be accessed by right clicking the line.
Edit: Allows users to Edit the record.
Delete: Allows users to Delete the record.
Move Up: Moves the record one line up.
Move Down: Moves the record one line down.
All the stages use these fixed statuses:
1 Pending - Previously named 'New Job'
2 Planned
3 Ready
4 Busy
5 Part Complete
6 Complete
Pending and Complete Tasks are excluded from Planning and Scheduling.

Edit: Makes the stage editable.

Copy: Copies the stage to create a new stage.

Status Bar:
Status dropdown list: Sets the stage to Active or Inactive.
Status Note: Allows users to type a status note.

Tasks (SQL): A checkbox to indicate SQL is used to automate or customise task descriptions.
Description: Allows users to type a description.
Code: Allows users to type a code (abbreviated description) for the stage.
Group: Allows users to select a group from the dropdown list.
Type: Allows users to select one of these types from the dropdown list:
Production: The stage is used in production.
Outwork: The stage is outsourced.
Queue: The stage is used in production and there are multiple workstations available for the stage. Tasks are placed in a queue and from there allocated to the next available workstation.
Next Task Trigger: Allows users to select which completion status will set the stage to ready. The options are:
Part Complete: Partially Complete.
Complete: Complete.
Buffer Hrs: The number of hours between jobs (e.g. if a machine must be cleaned, or ink must first dry).
Supplier (Outwork only): Provides a dropdown list of suppliers to select the suppliers that can perform the outwork.
Select the Supplier then click Add (button) to add the supplier to the list.
Workstation (Production / Queue only): Provides a dropdown list of workstations to select ones at which the work is done.
Select the Workstation then click Add (button) to add the workstation to the list.
Note: A stage can have multiple workstations, but a workstation can only be added once.
Shifts (Production only): Click the ellipses to add shifts for which the stage is operational.
Resources (Production only): The number of resources (e.g. team members) required to operate the stage.
