Production Planning assists organisations in managing all their production tasks. The Jobs View displays all the jobs that are in the pipeline. From this view, jobs can be moved into the planning and production stages. This view also has multiple actions that can be used to manage the jobs.
These tutorials explain the Job view, how best to use it, and how to use the related functions.

Table of Contents
Ensure that your Items and Costings (tabs) are set up correctly, especially the time it takes to produce an item (Services).
If a customer orders multiple items, it is acceptable to create a single Sales Order.
Try to create a separate Work Order for every item that must be produced so that items can enter production as soon as their materials are ready. This system helps prevent bottlenecks.
The Job view shows two date columns by default. A third column (Start Date) can be added from the Field Chooser (*).
Required Date: This is the date by which the customer must receive the goods. A setting determines if the required date is set by the sales order, in which case it can only be changed there.
Due Date: This is the date by which the goods should be produced. The Due Date is generally considered flexible and can be adjusted to fit in with production schedules.
If the Due Date is later than the Required Date or today, it is shown in red. In this case, you can see if the job can be started sooner or negotiate a new delivery date with your customer.
ℹ️ This sequence of events depends on your settings.
The Job view integrates with Goods Issued and Received to show if the materials are ready.
If the materials are ready (at 100%), you can release the job to production (Actions (button) > Release to Production).
When jobs are in the Planning Stage, they have white icons (abbreviations) for each stage that must be completed.
When jobs are scheduled, they have colour-coded icons (abbreviations). Jobs can be scheduled, and the scheduling adjusted from multiple Views.
When choosing to send the jobs into production, consider the following:
If you have many jobs and send them all into production, your Planning Board may become hard to manage.
If you send too few jobs into production, departments or machines may be left idle.
Therefore, based on your organisation's unique circumstances, you could work out an optimum number of jobs that should be in production. This could be a fixed number, the next two days' jobs, or the next two weeks' jobs.
