For my final data visualization project, I chose to work with the "Who eats the food we grow?" dataset.
I wanted to create a visualization that would allow users to see which places hold the most amounts of foods.
In my visualization, the data is represented as dots, the location of the dots shows the longitude and latitude of the place where the data is being pulled from. The number that shows up when a dot is hovered over is how many 1000 tons of food is in that location.
To interact with the visualization, try using the < and > to move through time in years. You can also use the 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 keys to switch through different foods.
One interesting thing I noticed during this project is China has the most of almost every food portrayed in this dataset
Something I still wonder about is why does China have this much food?
