For my final data visualization project, I chose to work with extinct languages.
I wanted to create a visualization that would allow users to see where the extinct languages were and how many people still speak the language.
In my visualization, the data is represented as a map with dots that represent each language.
To interact with the visualization, try hovering over the dots or clicking on the boxes on the right.
One interesting thing I noticed during this project is that there are more extinct languages in places with smaller countries such as South America and Africa whereas larger places such as Canada and Russia have fewer endangered / extinct languages.
Something I still wonder about is whether the number of languages per country would correlate to the extinct languages.
