For my final data visualization project, I chose to work with a data set about numbers of adherents to world religions. https://data.world/cow/world-religion-data
I wanted to create a visualization that would allow users to easily see how large numbers were related, and a bubble chart seemed like the best idea. The scale might be slightly off, because these numbers are wildly different in size.
In my visualization, the data is represented as bubbles. Each bubble represents the number of adherents to that religion—although I used, for example, "total Christianity" instead of splitting it up into groups such as Protestant or Catholic. Hovering tells you which religion it is. Clicking changes the year from 2010 to 1945, and the bubbles shift size to match.
To interact with the visualization, try clicking and hovering! If that doesn't work, try hovering and clicking.
One interesting thing I noticed during this project is these numbers are REALLY BIG.
Something I still wonder about is how accurate is this data? How has it changed as of what year we are in now?
