For my final data visualization project, I chose to work with the World Religions 1945-2010 data set. The source for this data is from data.world.
I wanted to create a visualization that would allow users to see the number of people in each religion over a long period of time, so they can make their own conclusions about what that means for the religions in the world.
In my visualization, the data is represented as bars that are proportional to the number of people in the religion bar.
To interact with the visualization, try hovering over the bars and seeing informational text pop up, and using the slide at the bottom left of the screen to switch years. Also, you can press the button on the bottom right to change the scaling to better see the change of the religion numbers over time.
One interesting thing I noticed during this project was from my own work. After I finished it, I played with the settings and saw how much the number of people in the smaller religions such as changed over time.
Something I still wonder about is how accurate this data really is.
