For my final data visualization project, I chose to work with Harvard's data for cities along the Silk Road throughout time.
I wanted to create a visualization that would allow users to find all of the cities on a map, and see them in proximity to each other.
In my visualization, the data is represented as map with dots representing each city.
To interact with the visualization, try hovering over each dot to see the name of the city.
One interesting thing I noticed during this project is that during the time of the Silk Road, there were many more cities scattered across western Asia as opposed to eastern Asia.
Something I still wonder about is what the visualization would look like if I could show what cities existed where over time.
