Sergeant Alvin York, was one of the most decorated U.S. Army soldiers of WWI. On this day in 1918, Sergeant York lead an attack on a German machine gun nest, killing at least 25 enemy soldiers and capturing 132. He received the Medal of Honor and also earned decorations from several allied counties.
