The Hope and Anchor English Pub in Loves Park was once the Mayflower Restaurant.

The Mayflower opened in the 1930's. Known for the their steaks and seafood, they also had an orchestra and dance floor. In the 1940's it became very popular with social organizations as a location to host their meetings and business luncheons.

After years of serving the Rockford area, the Mayflower closed their doors in 1999.
