Women Win the Right to Vote
June 4, 1919, the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, guaranteeing women the right to vote, is passed by Congress and sent to the states for ratification. Once three-fourths of the states had ratified the 19th Amendment, women were granted the right to vote in 1920.
Women fought for more than seventy years for the right to vote alongside men on Election Day.
