Swedish American Hospital

On July 17, 1918, Swedish American Hospital was completed. The four-story, 55 bed hospital was built on a three-acre site on Charles Street. Completed cost was $175,000.

On July 18, 1918, Swedish American Hospital admitted its first patient, Mrs. J. G. Prowd, whose 11-day stay for surgery amounted to $40.

Swedish American Hospital has been a major client of NIBCA contractors for the past 100 years.
