Historical Profile

Bricklayer Apprentice to NIBCA President

J. Arnold Wallden (Arnie to everyone who knows him) began his career in the late 50's as a Bricklayers Apprentice. Eventually, this led to journeyman status, a job with Gust G. Larson and Sons, and eventually a foremanship and Project Manager role.

In the mid-seventies, Arnie became a partner with Harold Larson and formed Larson & Wallden, Inc., a company known for its masonry and painstackingly excellent craftsmanship on a host of local projects.

Arnie became a board member of NIBCA in 1978 and later served as it's President. During his career, Arnie became a friend and mentor to many, serving as Chairman of the Bricklayers' Apprenticeship Program for over a decade.

At this time, Arnie enjoys retirement and has been honored by NIBCA as an Honorary Member.
