Northern Illinois Terrazzo & Tile

Bringing the two thousand plus year artistry and function of tile and terrazzo work to northern Illinois in the 1920's were John R. D'Agnolo and Otto D'Agnolo. The two established Northern Illinois Terrazzo & Tile Company in 1929.

They are currently a fourth generation family owned and operated business.

Nicholas Conservatory and Gardens

The Nicholas Conservatory and Gardens was constructed with heavy consideration for the environment. In line with that commitment to sustainability, terrazzo was chosen to guide visitors along the conservatory’s serpentine paths.

The naturalistic terrazzo project, implemented by Northern Illinois Terrazzo and Tile Co., with a design by artist Linda Beaumont, was inspired by the winding Rock River. The project won an Honorable Mention at the 2012 National Terrazzo and Mosaic Association Honor Awards.
