Sinnissippi Golf Clubhouse

This is a photo from 1926 of the Sinnissippi golf clubhouse. The nine-hole course opened for play fourteen years before and boasted of being the "longest nine-holer in America."

It was Rockford’s first public course.

The course was designed by Thomas Bendelow. His goal was to create golf courses that were inexpensive and easy to maintain which explain the lack of sand bunkers or water hazards.
