The climax or the turning point of the story in the book Projekt 1065 by Alan Gratz, is when Michael turns in his parents and Simon dies. This is the turning point because Micheal does not have guidance anymore and he is all on his own. Micheal can't ask his parents because they had to run from SS. I know this because on page 256 the text states "My parents, Simon, they would have to sacrifice themselves for nothing. As long as the professor was safe." that shows that Micheal had to lose his friend and parents. On page 248 the text also states "Simon fell. The SS officer keeled down next to him "He is dead." That shows that Simon has passed away and that Michael will have to work without Simon or his Parents.
