Characters Reactions to Obstacles

Many obstacles occur duing the story...

Describe how the character is currently reacting to this obstacle.

Describe their reaction with evidence from the book and explain why you think they reacted that way.

Horst's obstacle is to try to be a nicer human being and his reaction to that is when he tries to impress the Hitler Youth by fighting others and teaching them bad lessons.  In the text it tells us that Fritz doesn't throw the books into the fire at the book burning so as his punishment, Horst thinks it would be a good idea to fight Fritz. Fritz doesn't really know how to fight back so he just lays on the ground  while getting kicked and punched by Horst and his friends. This evidence implies that Horst made the decision to not be a nice person. (In my opinion that is the wrong choice) Reagan B. 2/22/24
