Use evidence (direct quotes) from the text to support your answer.   What made them make the choice they did.  What motivates them to react the why they did.
Analyze what you think this character's choice says about them.

Horst has a difficult choice to make throughout the whole story, that decision is if he should be a nice human being. He did not make the correct choice though in my opinion. Horst did not change his mind at all because he wanted to be mean just like Hitler. Horst wanted to live up to his dream and live up to Hitler. I know this because in the text it says, " ' All right, let's see who's next?" Horst said, consulting his clipboard. " Ah! Fritz Brendler!" His eyes lit up with anticipation of violence. " And who will we choose to fight you?" His hungry eyes swept the crowd, stopping on the biggest and toughest looking boy of them all. He was a head and a half taller than Fritz, with arms thicker than Fritz's neck, and a crooked nose that said he'd been in more than his fair share of fights. I thought I heard a squeak come out of Fritz. " Fritz Brendler, your opponent is..." Horst announced, drawing it out, " Micheal O' Shaunessey!" Pg. 121. Micheal is Fritz's best friend, Horst knows that if they fight each other one would not get in to the SRD. I know that Horst did not chose to be nice at all throughout the book.  Reagan B.
