Whole School Approach to Writing: VOICES

Above are the three VOICES Menus. VOICES is the Glen Waverley Whole School Approach to writing. These have been created by staff based upon research. They range from Early Cognitive (Prep/Year 1), Primary Cognitive (Years 2-4) and Senior Cognitive menu (Years 5-6). Your child may use strategies and goals from two menus. VOICES stands for: Voice, Organisation, Ideas, Conventions, Excellent Word Choice and Sentence Fluency. Under each of these headings is a list of strategies/goals that can support writers. Your child's writing goal will be a VOICES strategy to assist them in strengthening their writing.
