SOP: Setting Up and Sending Shopify Collaborator Access

Purpose

To ensure vendors, partners, and support teams can securely access the Shopify store using a collaborator account without sharing admin credentials.

1. Enable Collaborator Requests

1. Log in to Shopify Admin.

2. Go to Settings → Users and Permissions.

3. Scroll to Collaborator requests.

4. Click Edit.

5. Turn Allow collaborator requests ON.

6. (Optional but recommended) Set a 4-digit Collaborator Code.

2. Locate the Store Link (myshopify.com URL)

1. In the left-hand menu, select Domains.

2. Under Shopify-managed domains, copy the URL ending in:

3. Send the Access Instructions to the Collaborator

Provide the collaborator with:

• Store link (myshopify.com URL)

• Collaborator code (if enabled)

Here is the store link to request collaborator access:

Collaborator code: 1234

Please submit the request through your Shopify Partner Dashboard.

4. Approve Collaborator Request

1. Return to Settings → Users and Permissions.

2. Scroll to Collaborators.

3. Open the pending request → click Review request.

4. Grant the appropriate permissions (Orders, Customers, Apps, Themes, etc.).

5. Click Accept.

5. Audit Access Regularly

• Remove collaborators no longer working on the brand.

• Review permissions monthly for security.
