May 20, 2024 on Zoom 5:30 - 7:00pm: Are you looking for ideas, strategies, and resources to support inclusive practices? The Telescope Network is hosting a Connect and Share virtual panel discussion on the topic of "Collaborative practices for inclusion." Join us as our panelists discuss how they have been successfully coordinating services, scaffolds, and accommodations for students. During the 1.5-hour session, you can hear from a panel of “humble expert” colleagues about what’s working for them and bring resources & tools back to your own setting. The intended audience for this event is current and future learning specialists, inclusion specialists, ESL educators, and anyone interested in best practices for coordinating services for students.
THANK YOU for everyone who attended the Connect & Share webinar session on the topic “How do we support students' social emotional needs to promote academic success and whole child development?” We had 49 people attend the session from 25 different schools or departments.
After the session, 93% of participants (40 out of 43 exit tickets) said that they would recommend this session to a colleague. Additional comments from participants:
I really enjoyed the presenters' honest reflections on what they tried, what worked, and what didn't work for their teaching.
It was really interesting to hear about different models for inclusion, how to support students, the issue of creating student dependence, and how other schools clearly align their roles.
I loved hearing different teacher's perspectives of inclusion instruction.
I enjoyed the team work and the passion each presenter has for teaching - contagious!

Join us to hear from colleagues around BPS about what's working to support diverse students needs in their SLIFE classrooms and communities. During the 1.5-hour session, you can hear from a panel of “humble expert” colleagues about what’s working for them and bring resources & tools back to your own setting.
THANK YOU for everyone who attended the Connect and Share webinar session on the topic “How do we meet the diverse needs of our SLIFE students so that all students can progress?” We had 15 people attend the session from 11 different schools or departments.

Join us as our panelists discuss how they have been successful in Alt. Ed. math! During the 1.5-hour session, you can hear from a panel of “humble expert” colleagues about what’s working for them and bring resources & tools back to your own setting.

THANK YOU for everyone who attended the Connect and Share in collaboration with the Math and Equitable Literacy Departments where educators explored effective practices in the alternative math classroom. A full house of 22 alternative school educators attended the session from 7 different schools or departments.

April 24th, 2024 5:00 pm - 7:00pm at RCC The BPS/BTU Telescope Network, BPS Office of Retention, Cultivation, and Diversity and The Teacher's Lounge are co-hosting a panel discussion where educators of color will be discussing how our BIPOC identities impact professional collaboration and growth. The panel of “humble expert” colleagues will also share about culturally sustaining experiences, what’s working for them, and other ideas for educators to take back to their practice. Participants will receive 2 PDP hours for attending the panel.
Dinner will be provided before the panel begins.
THANK YOU for everyone who attended the Connect and Share co-hosted by the BPS/BTU Telescope Network, BPS Office of Retention, Cultivation, and Diversity and The Teachers’ Lounge where educators of color explored their identity and the many ways it informs professional advancement. We had 44 educators attend the session from 38 different schools or departments.

The BPS History Department and the Telescope Network are co-hosting a Connect and Share virtual panel discussion on the topic of "Providing Access to Primary Sources for Multilingual Learners in the Secondary Classroom" During the 1.5-hour session, you can hear from a panel of “humble expert” colleagues about what’s working for them and bring resources & tools back to your own setting.
THANK YOU to everyone who attended the Connect & Share co-hosted by Telescope Network and the BPS History Department on the topic “Providing Access to Primary Sources for Multilingual Learners in the Secondary Classroom” We had 26 people attend the session from 14 different schools or departments.

The Telescope Network is hosting a Connect and Share virtual panel discussion on the topic of "Stations and Studios in Early Childhood Classrooms." Join us as our panelists discuss how they have been successfully implementing stations and studios in their early childhood spaces! During the 1.5-hour session, you can hear from a panel of “humble expert” colleagues about what’s working for them and bring resources & tools back to your own setting.

"I am an ESL teacher so stations/centers looks different for me but one of the helpful tips that I will implement is providing students with an exemplar at the station. I will also be sharing the information with other teachers who do whole class stations and have struggled."
February 29, 2024 5:30 pm - 7:00pm at THE MIX Join The Telescope Network, BPS Office of Recruitment, Cultivation and Diversity and The Teacher’s Lounge for a panel of ‘humble expert’ colleagues who will deliberate the question “How does your identity impact and inform your practice?”
Thank you to everyone who attended the Connect & Share hosted by the BPS/BTU Telescope Network, BPS Office of Retention, Cultivation, and Diversity and The Teachers’ Lounge where educators of color explored their identity and the many ways it informs their practice, and impacts students. The panel of “humble expert” colleagues shared narratives surrounding how to foster culturally sustaining experiences for students, current successful practices, and daily mindsets for educators to take back to their practice. A full house of 68 educators attend the session from 52 different schools or departments.
After the session, 100% of participants said that they would recommend this session to a colleague. Additional comments from participants:
“The energy was on 10! The pacing of the questions and responses were great. Overall, it was well organized and so affirming!”
“The panel was diverse and the questions presented were thoughtful and insightful.”
