(May 2019) Telescope Network and Boston Teacher Residency co-hosted the Joyful Learning Symposium. It was a chance to celebrate teachers and teaching across BPS. We invited past participants from Telescope Network events to gather with us for food, friends, and short conversation sessions led by teachers who are doing joyful, interesting, or innovative work. The event took place at the new Dearborn STEM Academy. More than 100 educators joined the event and there were 19 different teacher-led sessions. More info

(Mar 2019) In March, we cohosted an Edcamp at Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the Senate. More info.
(Feb 2019) On Feb 8th and Mar 1st, we hosted a Learning Site session. Learning site was hosted by Liz Peters, 10th grade ELA teacher at Madison Park High School.
The topic/question was: Reclaiming Our Data: Creating meaningful data with students, for students and to motivate students AND teachers.
(Nov 2018) In November, we updated our Telescope promotional materials to better explain our mission and goals.
(Nov 2018) On Nov 7th and 14th, we hosted our first Learning Site session. Learning site was hosted by Chris Madson, 12th grade ELA teacher at EMK Academy.
The topic/question was: How do we implement aspects of project-based learning in a traditional classroom setting to increase student ownership?
(Nov 2018) On Saturday, November 17th, we co-hosted the BPS/BTU Fall EdCamp at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute. EdCamps are a unique "unconference" form of professional development where those in attendance lead learning for one another according to their interests.
