Tiered Literacy Instruction Learning Site
In a Learning Site, educators come together for a full day in a live classroom around a common area of practice (also can accommodate a ½ day model). Participants talk with the host teacher and set goals for their own classrooms. Participants who continue the learning through virtual follow-up sessions are also able to earn an academic ladder credit.
Gr 1 Tiered Literacy Instruction Learning Site 3/30 and 4/3: Join the Telescope Network for a Learning Site hosted by educators at Curtis Guild Elementary and Haynes EEC that addresses the question “How do we align tiered instruction to strengthen the foundational literacy skills of our students?” After the observation educators have a chance to think through and debrief with the host teachers around the hows and whys of their teaching practice and participate in follow up coaching sessions for an ALC/PDPs.

THANK YOU for all the educators that attended the Learning site at the Haynes Early Education Center in Roxbury and the Curtis Guild Elementary in East Boston. Our host teachers were Our host teachers were Dianne Pierce (Grade 1 @ Haynes), Stephen MacCormack (Language & Literacy Teacher @ Haynes), Grace Cogan (Gr 1 @ Guild) and our debrief facilitator was Nora Birner (Gr 1 @ Guild). We had 20 participants join from 8 different BPS schools/departments join this session.
After the session, 100% of participants (20 out of 20 exit ticket responses) said that they would recommend this session to a colleague. Additional comments from participants:
