Why is this event important?
Educators need to connect to one another to share best practices. In the Telescope Network’s educator needs assessment in March, we found that only 45% of survey respondents could identify a “bright spot” colleague who they might turn to for advice or effective practices. In Oct/Nov 2020, only 37% of respondents could identify a “bright spot” or a “humble expert” colleague.
In this Connect and Share event, educators will learn from colleagues and make connections to one another.
How were the topics chosen?
Through an analysis of needs assessment data, Transformation Coach, school leader, and APL input, we identified a few high interest/high leverage areas of practice on which to focus.
How were the presenters chosen?
Presenters are educators who have been nominated as “bright spots” by colleagues or supervisors and vetted by Transformation Coaches and APL Leaders.
Who is eligible to attend?
Any educator is eligible to attend, but the event is geared primarily toward those who teach ELA in grades 3-12.
Are Paraprofessionals welcome? Yes.
Will PDPs be provided?
PDPs are generally only available for experiences of 10 hours or more. Attendance will be recorded on TeachPoint and educators can bundle these hours toward PDPs in the content area.
