Please fill out this exit ticket to sign-in and give us your feedback. BPS Participants will also be awarded 2.5 PD hours for attending.
THANK YOU for those that attended our very first EDCAMP of the 2022-23 school year. 100% of attendees (11 out of 11 exit ticket responses) said they would recommend this session to a friend. Here are some take-aways from the exit ticket:
I learned about the protocol Save the Last Word. I will study it a little further and hopefully try it out in class this week.
I really appreciated the discussion and not feeling the need to have to sensor myself
I was reminded of tools I already have that will help facilitate robust conversations about the curriculum.
Based on this session, here’s some things that participants want to try in their own classrooms/schools:
Implementing more talking norms
I learned about the protocol Save the Last Word. I will study it a little further and hopefully try it out in class next week.
Making books go “viral” - lots of ideas around books to use in the classroom
Energized with ideas for student govt
What is an Edcamp?
Edcamps are “unconferences” where there is no pre-set session agenda. The New York Times describes Edcamps as “an innovative form of training with no predetermined speakers or sessions, led by the participants themselves.” At an Edcamp, participants create the session topics at the start of the event based on their interests and questions. Edcamps provide educators with a professional learning model for growing, connecting, and sharing expertise with others in the room.
Why Edcamp?
Edcamp is a chance to connect, learn from each other, and figure out together how to think through new ways to create deeper learning experiences for students. We hope you’ll leave with new ideas and new connections.
